Thankful Books

I did my first Thankful Book with  my oldest when she was 2.  I am not sure what inspired me, but it has become a Thanksgiving tradition around here.

Here is how you can do one too:

Supplies: card stock in white and in a color, paint/markers/crayons/basically any way to decorate the hand prints, hole punch, fastener (we used string)

Directions:
1.  Sit down with your kid(s) and write out what they are thankful for.  My girls had 10 things this year each, but last  year it was less and they did not have the same number of things.

2.  Trace your child's hand and cut it out.  You will need 2 solid colors (for the front and back cover) and then how many ever white hands for them to decorate.

3.  Let your kids decorate the hands.  My girls love to paint so that is what they chose.

(egg cartons make great paint holders!)

4.  Set them out to dry.

4.  Write the things they are thankful for on their hands.  This is the first year my oldest wrote her own.  B did a great job!

5.  Put the hands together with the covers on the front and back.  I write names on the front and put the year/age of the child on the back.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
