The Letter F

Day 1
Goals: Learn the letter F. Be able to recognize it on the paper. Be able to say at least one thing that starts with the letter F.

Color sheets: Capital Letter "F", Lowercase "f", Ff is for Fish, Ff is for Flower

Craft: Frog
Directions: Print out template.  Color/paint the pieces.  Cut them out.  Have your child glue on the head, mouth, arms, and legs

Song: F says "fff".

Shapes:  Circles and Ovals
Directions:  Print out sheet and have your child find the circle.  Color the circle yellow.  Then have your child find the ovals and color them the color of your choice.

Day 2
Goals: Recall the sound "F" makes. Find "F" on papers.

Color Sheets: Sesame Street "F", Ff is for Frog, Fairies,  Franklin

Tracing Skills Sheet: Vertical Lines
Tracing practice may seem silly, but it helps develop the fine motor skills needed for writing.

Computer Skills: Starfall "F", Bembo's Zoo (choose the letter F)

Songs: Old Mac Donald had a Farm

Snack: Fruit
Go the the grocery store and have your child pick out the fruit they want to eat.  Talk about what color they are and count them as you bag it (i.e. 1 apple, 2 apple, or there are 1,2,3,4,5 bananas).  Then have them help you make a fruit salad.  The child will not only learn their colors, and counting, but they will love eating something they made!

Day 3 (Just doing school 2 days a week? Add this to day 2)
Goal: Learn the color Blue, Reinforce the Letter F

Song: "Flower Man Song"

Activity Sheet - Color the objects black and then find the one that starts with the letter F.

Scissor Skills: Curvy Flowers
This also helps with fine motor skills. Plus your child needs to learn how to use scissors the correct way before going to school.
